Also forgotten (how could I?!), is this free yarn sample card from Australia’s Ozeyarn. I could pet it for hours….

It arrived while I was away in Hyderabad.

By courier yesterday evening, I got my first copy of the Anchor Needle N Magazine, which is from Coats India and features all Indian content. You can subscribe for Rs 225 per year and the magazine is quarterly, so you get an issue every 3 months. I got my subscription form from Viji in Chennai, and was very thrilled to get my first copy! I’m quite pleased at the overall content (several different types of needlework & embroidery) and the mail order pages.

Also in the envelope was this kit for coasters:

It uses cross stitch.

Nice! Apparently you cannot buy this magazine on the stands, which might explain why I’ve never seen it before. I wonder if there are any more such hiding somewhere?

On the crochet front, this magazine has a filet curtain pattern.

Also while I was away, I received my CAT PAC from Kat for the August CAT. And here are all the goodies she included:

My first ever Red Heart Super Saver, in Light Coral. Now I only have to figure out what to make with 8 oz/225 g of acrylic worsted weight yarn in a pale colour…

These yarn needles (blunt-ended) from Boye:

My first ever Crystalite hooks from Red Heart, and you know what’s most ironic? They were made in India!!! Where oh where can I buy these here?

Another first, a skein of Peaches & Creme cotton yarn in a pleasant blue-green ombre:

I’ve used the Crystalites, not any of the other stuff yet. But I *loved* the PAC. Thank you so much, Kat!

was this:

from Laurie on Crochetlist/CAT. She remembered I was looking for tops to hook with thread/cotton and sent it to me when she saw the top on the cover and another inside. Haven’t made up my mind yet which/whether/with what I will make either, though. I love how generous people are! Thank you so much, Laurie!

This special package took a whole month to get to me. The Crochetville elf from Jacksonville, Florida posted it on August 01, and I got it today! My adventures with post continue…

Here are all my goodies:

A lovely Christmas card with a kind message.

Wonderful, wonderful comfort grips for my hooks from Kahoot!

A whole bunch of patterns for me to drool over make.

A fluffy, soft, pink skein of yarn. Somebody please tell me what it might be?

A Boye hook in size F/5 (3.75 mm). I didn’t have this size before, so it’s very welcome!

And the sweetest thing of all…

Candy!!!! I’m waiting for my husband to come home so we can share these.

Thank you so much for all the goodness and thinking of me!!!

I needed (no really!) thread to finish my current project, as well as some for my next assignment, as well as some beads…so I had to go shopping. These are the goodies I came back with:

The smaller balls are the project finishers, nothing new there. The large one is the famous “knitting cotton” which might be size 10 or might not. Haven’t decided yet what wearable I am going to make for myself, but had to have a sample of the thread *grin*.

Some needles in a case…just in case! I was hoping I would find that big-eye needle that is used for beading, but no such luck. Found some very fine ones (on the left) which I doubt I will be using for anything at all. They are beading needles, but must be used with thread the size of sewing thread or something. I had a problem even getting my needle threader through them.
And with my trembling hands? Forget it!

Local pattern books with lovely doily patterns! I need about 36 hours in a day, methinks.

My next project will probably be in this colour, size 20. What’s wrong with yellow?

Haven’t got a pic of the beads I picked up, really cheap (and I mean cheap, not inexpensive ones). I’m not very happy with the quality, but I have to take what I get…And if I want to work in larger gauge thread, I need larger beads, but these seem to be the only ones going…*sigh*

And for those of you who might be wondering, yes, I do actually use all the stuff I buy, just haven’t got anything finished to show you right now…..

Got my CAT PAC for July from Jacqui in Australia today. YAY! My horizons are expanding, because she sent me:

in eyelash yarn (I’m pretty sure) which I’ve never seen before! Here’s a closeup:

It must have been tough to work with that yarn! It’s actually a lime-green and olive-green combo, which isn’t showing up well in the picture.

Then she also sent me:

A teddy bear tea towel with a pastel blue crocheted towel topper. Here is a closeup of the topper:

I also got:

This is a pin cushion meant to be worn on a finger (my thumb, here) for sticking a couple of pins into when you need your hands free. Isn’t that a smart idea? The base is a cola bottle cap.

Because the PAC came from Australia she sent me:

The koala is attached to a keyring.

You must take a look at Jacqui’s collection of hooks (630 at last count, I think), as well as some of the amazing work she does.

There are two more CATs to go this year. CAT is the Crochet-A-Thon monthly chat, which is also an opportunity for members of Crochetlist to pledge crocheted items for the charities selected for the month. It is a 24-hour marathon chat and we have crocheters logging in from Australia, USA, Britain, Germany, India and other places.

I finally received my CAT PAC from Grace in Wisconsin from Crochetlist. Remember I was mourning the disappearance of the PAC she sent me first? Well, the replacement arrived safe and sound today and was jampacked with goodies…..

In addition to a short bio, I got the following yarn and hooks:
Sugar and Cream from Lily in Ivory (it looks like cream to me!) and Summer Splash colours. I have seen cotton and it is good!!!!
Bernat Chenille in Blue Grass Ombre. Yes, chenille exists!
Boye hooks in sizes J (6.00mm), K (6.50mm), and N (9.00mm) in alumnium. Yippee! I never had these before and can’t find them around here. See and drool!

Lots, lots and lots of patterns to soothe my PAS:

And finally (but most importantly) a bag Grace made herself and the cutest cat (not CAT) notepad…

Oh, and yes, I won another PAC in this month’s CAT too! So that’s one down and two to go (PACs to receive). I also hosted (officially) an hour of the Crochet-A-Thon monthly chat, which is also an opportunity for members of Crochetlist to pledge crocheted items for the charities selected for the month. I hope Esperanza is reading this: I found an address for one of the yarn shops I mentioned in my last post on this subject.

The yarn shop in Sarojini Nagar, New Delhi is

New Kalpana Tracers,
Shop No. 120 (Opp Vegetable market)
Sarojini Nagar Market
Ph: 2410 1702/2467 8396

Something tells me you might find yarn in Karol Bagh also.
