Now I just have to stop laughing/scratching my head and try to make some of these….
For some reason it is called “binding by the hook” and not “crochet”.
I was reading from Bloglines and I came across The Wicked Stitch, a blog which no longer seems to exist, sadly. Anyway, she was complaining about not being able to access the Smart Yarns patterns anymore. Apparently they are making these knit & crochet patterns available at the link below:

Ok, a new WIP! As threatened in one of my earlier posts, I have taken up the Pineapple Fan chair set. I’m working on it with size 20 Anchor thread in white (rather than the size 30 recommended in the pattern), and here is how it looked at one point in the afternoon yesterday:
It has since moved on, but I haven’t taken any pictures yet.
Size 20 seems to be the most popular gauge around here. Which reminds me, thank you to all 3 yes 3 voters in my poll so far (on the right somewhere). I now know that 3 people have at some point of its life or other, read my blog!!! Cheers!
Sheila, I liked your sloganizer, but I can almost anticipate what it will turn my blog into and it doesn’t feel like it has the potential to be as funny…And still on your blog, could you post pictures of your cats sometime? I’d love to see them.
Someone over at Crochetville forums posted a link to a Elvish name generator and my Elvish name is “Merenwen Ancalimon” Ta-da! My Hobbit name is a much less romantic sounding Ruby Loamsdown.

For the past couple of days all I see on my Bloglines list on this blog is “The user name you are using does not allow sharing of subscriptions.” What on earth is that supposed to mean? I can read all my subscriptions on my bloglines feed page fine, and they are all still marked as “public” so what is happening here???? I like the look of the bloglines feed, but my only problem is that they don’t have adequate help on their site, and I haven’t found “error messages” anywhere so I can check what’s happening…
I’ve been wanting a way to put up polls on my blog which had a nice clean interface, and thanks to The Crochet Dude, Drew, I’ve now found one. I’ve created a fairly silly inaugural poll, so please vote now! Yes, this means YOU!
On another note, I find for some reason my Bloglines subscriptions are not being shown and all i get is a funny message saying “…” well, just check it out at the the right and let me know if you can see them.
I seriously have to finish that shawl or else it will be shunted off to yet another foster parent. So I’m now going to shut down my computer and get a-hooking (it isn’t as bad as it sounds!
Guess what! My neighbour was cleaning up her attic and found these books: What’s better, she’s given them to me!!!
They seem to be both published in 1974, the year I was born.
Guess what? Glorious sunset!
