Vintage crochet

This was made in the 1920s by an aunt I never knew. She died when my mom was an infant. She apparently did a lot of crafts. I have to gather my courage to try and repair this. My eldest aunt gave it to me when we visited her last year. She also crochets and knits and taught my mom a lot of the crafts she does. My aunt also gave me a granny square doily made by my grandmom which I've given to my uncle. Posted by Picasa

  1. Will you be framing this once you get it repaired? I think it would be a nice tribute to the late aunt, as well as a personal history of how long your family has been crocheting! Best of luck to you on the repairs.

  2. That looks like quite a challenge but should be well worth any effort! It’s an amazing family heirloom!!

  3. Actually, I wouldn’t repair it. I would just frame it as is. Oftentimes repairing detracts from value. Just leave it and treasure it.
