Got my CAT PAC for July from Jacqui in Australia today. YAY! My horizons are expanding, because she sent me:

in eyelash yarn (I’m pretty sure) which I’ve never seen before! Here’s a closeup:

It must have been tough to work with that yarn! It’s actually a lime-green and olive-green combo, which isn’t showing up well in the picture.

Then she also sent me:

A teddy bear tea towel with a pastel blue crocheted towel topper. Here is a closeup of the topper:

I also got:

This is a pin cushion meant to be worn on a finger (my thumb, here) for sticking a couple of pins into when you need your hands free. Isn’t that a smart idea? The base is a cola bottle cap.

Because the PAC came from Australia she sent me:

The koala is attached to a keyring.

You must take a look at Jacqui’s collection of hooks (630 at last count, I think), as well as some of the amazing work she does.

There are two more CATs to go this year. CAT is the Crochet-A-Thon monthly chat, which is also an opportunity for members of Crochetlist to pledge crocheted items for the charities selected for the month. It is a 24-hour marathon chat and we have crocheters logging in from Australia, USA, Britain, Germany, India and other places.

This postcard from Heather in Ft Myers, Florida, with a map of her state:

Heather is again a bookcrossing member as well as a postcrossing member.

I finally received my CAT PAC from Grace in Wisconsin from Crochetlist. Remember I was mourning the disappearance of the PAC she sent me first? Well, the replacement arrived safe and sound today and was jampacked with goodies…..

In addition to a short bio, I got the following yarn and hooks:
Sugar and Cream from Lily in Ivory (it looks like cream to me!) and Summer Splash colours. I have seen cotton and it is good!!!!
Bernat Chenille in Blue Grass Ombre. Yes, chenille exists!
Boye hooks in sizes J (6.00mm), K (6.50mm), and N (9.00mm) in alumnium. Yippee! I never had these before and can’t find them around here. See and drool!

Lots, lots and lots of patterns to soothe my PAS:

And finally (but most importantly) a bag Grace made herself and the cutest cat (not CAT) notepad…

Oh, and yes, I won another PAC in this month’s CAT too! So that’s one down and two to go (PACs to receive). I also hosted (officially) an hour of the Crochet-A-Thon monthly chat, which is also an opportunity for members of Crochetlist to pledge crocheted items for the charities selected for the month. It is a 24-hour marathon chat and we have crocheters logging in from Australia, USA, Britain, Germany, India and other places.

Sridhar left a glass of whisky on the rocks in the freezer for a couple of nights and this is what happened to it:

Drew: The experiment was subsequently nuked and consumed with no after-effects observed.

Better photo for a change.

Number 5 from The Netherlands, from Andrea in Groningen. Member of postcrossing. The postcard shows Floddertje, a little girl who likes being dirty and hates being cleaned up!

These two books by Jonathan Kellerman, but with different covers:

This one is from Petra Trolenberg in Germany, again a member of postcrossing as well as bookcrossing. It is a restaurant called Wettin Haus in Wurzen, Sachsen (Saxony), close to Liepzig.

I’ve up and joined yet another yahoo group on Crochet. This time it’s Crochet Talk, and I stumbled upon it from Karla‘s blog. Dunno why I keep doing this, when half of the info might be irrelevant to me (no wonder I call myself Misfit!) here in India, but an addiction is an addiction is an addiction.

No news on any of my postcrossing postcards reaching their destinations…Is it just me or does the Postal Service worldwide like making me fret? But the good thing is, my blogging has encouraged lots of other people to join. I myself have Barbara to thank, of course, and Cristal for the bookcrossing.
