I slept in the afternoon today, which always depresses me when I wake up. And the news about Bombay is too awful….Why does this happen? So much rain, so much loss of life and property…I have so many friends there. They all seem to be fine. But the city is so important for India and the infrastructure has basically collapsed. They had nearly a metre of rain in 5 hours the last week, and more rain this weekend.

I don’t feel like watching the TV.

Don’t mind me, I’ll be fine tomorrow morning.

Check this out at Deneen’s blog: an email she got.

Got it off Soapbox‘s blog.

You Are a Plain Ole Cup of Joe

But don’t think plain – instead think, uncomplicated

You’re a low maintenance kind of girl… who can hang with the guys

Down to earth, easy going, and fun! Yup, that’s you: the friend everyone invites.

And your dependable too. Both for a laugh and a sympathetic ear.

From Barbara (Nashville Crocheter) at Crochetville. I can’t believe how my wishlist is being fulfilled. I love that place…

Here is a close-up of the Clover yarn cutter:

I got so lucky yesterday! After much work I finally found a shop in Vizag which sells the thicker gauged thread. YAY! So I raided it and came home with the following goodies. The damages were around Rs 800…never spent so much in one day before.

Rita Weiss Ed. Pineapple Crochet Designs

Indian book of crochet patterns-cheap (please ignore the spelling…)!

Creamy Anchor thread in size 40…20 g balls

Red Heart in grey and white…100 g balls!

Two balls each of yellow, maroon, variegated and light tan in Anchor size 20…20 g balls

But what excites me most is this: The shop had something called “Knitting cotton” from Anchor, which I think will be good for making myself clothing items….I can’t wait, and will soon go hunting for pattern…YUM! Only 28 shades available, but that’s a good beginning.

Boohoo, the post ate my PAC. Or somebody else did. My Crochetlist CAT PAC donor told me she had mailed my PAC on July 7th, but I still haven’t got it. Its now almost 20 days, so I have to conclude somebody got their grubby hands all over my PAC….Why, why, why!

This is from Diamond over at Crochetville. It’s a postcard for Christmas in July!!!
